Brief:
The current issues that Auckland is dealing with at the moment are factory pollution (greenhouse gases and carbon dioxide), Kauri dieback in native forests in locations like, Waitakere, Okura bush and Kapatiki. Sediment pollution from housing developments and infrastructure are being built around forests and waterways. Cultural heritage issues are Maori land being taken and made into housing developments. Protecting wildlife and native trees is the key for the Auckland 2050 plan, as it is apart of protecting the cultural heritage.
New Zealand is proud of their environment and cultural heritage as it is what makes us unique. For the Auckland 2050 plan, the challenge is to preserve the environment and cultural heritage without all of the other subjects such as the housing crisis, immigration and transport interfering.
